Ukraine suffers from severe air pollution, causing tens of thousands of premature deaths per year. In the five industrial cities in the East of Ukraine (Kharkiv, Dnipro, Zaporizhia, Kryvyi Rih, Mariuopol), the Czech-Ukrainian team of experts took 90 samples of soil and river sediments. Samples will provide accurate data on the level of pollution. Samples are currently analyzed, the results will be released in autumn.
