On February 24, 2026, the President of the Czech Republic, Petr Pavel, held a meeting at Prague Castle with representatives of organizations and private individuals who have been supporting Ukraine over the long term.
Among the invited guests was Marcela Černohová — a representative of the Czech non-governmental organization Arnika and coordinator of the “Clean Air for Ukraine” program. With the support of Czech partners, the Clean Air program has been implementing environmental initiatives in Ukraine for many years, aimed at improving air quality, developing community-based monitoring, studying soil and water conditions, and strengthening environmental policy.

Even before the full-scale invasion, the program supported Ukrainian communities in developing air quality monitoring systems and working with pollution data. After 2022, its activities expanded: Arnika continues to support Ukrainian partners, helps document the environmental impacts of the war, and contributes to restoring environmental safety in affected regions.
During the meeting, the President of the Czech Republic expressed his gratitude to organizations and individuals who actively support Ukraine and contribute to strengthening cooperation between Czech and Ukrainian societies.

The participation of Arnika representatives in this meeting is a recognition of the organization’s long-term work and its partners’ efforts in supporting Ukrainian communities and advancing environmental initiatives.
